Learning Opportunities
Computer Club has a range of services to support our members with learning about technology. Depending on each person’s needs the service can be more formal and structured learning or as straightforward as asking a question.

Currently the club services available include:
 
Learning Sessions in the LearnSpace Room
These are formal sessions that require registration and regular attendance.
The sessions will vary in length depending on topics. Dates and times are announced in club emails before each session starts.
 
Drop in Tutorials
Members can drop in Tuesday or Thursday 9-12 when the rooms are open and get advice if a tech support person is available. On Wednesday 10am - 1pm there is a drop-in session for any member to get short answers and help.
 
Computer Use
Members can drop in on Wednesday 10-1pm to use the club desktop computers for wordprocessor, spreadsheet or presentation document preparation and editing in office software. If other members are not receiving drop-in support then help with the computer may be able to be provided. (this is help with minor problems like formatting, saving or editing; it is NOT computer training) Members will need to bring their files on a USB memory stick or USB portable drive.
 
ScamStop Mobile
Members can call the club mobile on 0493 001 196 to get advice on suspected scams. This service is available Monday to Thursday 9am – 4pm ONLY. It is only for immediate scam advice and no home visits are included.
Tech Support may recommend an appointment if the scam activity requires extensive recovery work on your device.
 
Saturday Information Sessions
These sessions are held at The Gatehouse on Broughton Avenue. They are usually held the first and second Saturdays of each month from February to December starting at 10am for one hour. Click on this link for the current month’s program.
 
Please note: These are member-only services for current financial members who are in self-care residential villages at Castle Hill or Glenhaven Green villages.
